I called readiris and there's no way to change the location from the temporary files area. So you either have to keep all your tiff files-- not something I plan to do--or be prompted for the save location each time or be sure to do a "save as" if you read something and know you want to keep it. Just glad I found this out before I scanned a whole book; you can imagined how upset I would have been if I had scanned a whole book, taken the book apart in the process, trashed the book pages and THEN discovered the work wasn't saved!!! I'm not happy about what I did lose but it could have been much, much worse!!!
