did you find the place to put your password into the smtp server setup?  are 
you using the automatic creation or doing it manual?  sometimes, automatic 
doesn't work especially if you have password encrypted smtp because you have 
to select the advanced settings and ad it in.

When you go through the mail wizard it says it is testing the connection to
the out-going smtp server but that one always gives an error that it could
not connect or whatever. The pop server seems to work fine.
I forget the exact message. It just doesn't work.
