    I could be incorrect here, but my understanding is that you can only 
successfully view tables in Pages if the table was created in Pages.  If you 
are trying to read a table in a document that you imported into Pages, you are 
not able to read the table and then have to copy the table into Numbers to read 
it and manipulate it.
