Dave, I have the same issue. You should see it on the desktop but for me
it is not there even though i have checked all the items to be shown on the
desktop in finder preferences.

I know this is going to be an easy thing to do, but I am not having
any luck here. I have the Stream plugged into the MAC. Where should I
see the Stream as an external drive?
