Hi Steve,

Keyboard commander allows keyboard shortcut keys to be set to carry out various
functions. By default, there are keystrokes set up to open Mail (Option M), to
open Safari (Option S), to run an Apple script that causes VO to announce the
date/time (Option T), and a few others I can't recall. You can also set up
your own keyboard shortcuts. To turn on keyboard commander, press VO F8 to
open the VO utility, arrow down the category table to "Commanders", VO right
arrow till you hear "Keyboard" and VO space on this, and then VO right arrow
till you get to a check box to "enable Keyboard commander and VO space to
check this.
You may need to interact with the category table and then stop interacting
after choosing commanders.

HTH
