It depends how you want to read a book.
.xml will open in Firefox but not Safari, which is a bit more accessible so the
.html extension will make this possible.

I have never had to change the .xml extension.

Olearia is a free daisy reader, accessible.
I usually simply open each mp3, sometimes in Amadeus Pro or by hitting the
space bar while in Finder.
With the text version of a Bookshare title I found, or rather was given the
great hint to change the .xml extension to .html and it opens in Safari and
read by VO.

Hi all,

I would like to read the Mavericks: The Missing Manual book that is
available from Bookshare. I downloaded the audio version and am listening
to it on my Victor Stream, but, I would like to try to read the text version
on my Mac. Is there a DAISY software reader for the Mac that will read
Bookshare text books and is compatible with VO?

Thanks,
