The sb live usb soundcard works but the line in does not work on it.
You might also look at the Griffin Firewave; it connects to your
firewire port and you connect your speaker system to that; it does
not have a line-in jack but that isn't a problem if you have one on
your mac; it also has another firewire port so you can still attach
a firewire external drive or whatever if I remember correctly.
Whatever you use, you will need to do some setting up in the audio
devices tab of audio midi setup in Utilities.
