  Chris, happy Sunday to you!!!

What, in particular would you like to know?… Just a few really super basic points here:

• on the Mac, you are white

• White makes the first move

• pawns can move two squares on their first move, as opposed to one thereafter

• On the Mac, you can move pieces by pressing VO space on the piece you'd like to move, and then using VO nav to arrive at the square you'd like to move the piece to, and then once again, pressing VO space.

• On The Mac, the computer should announce its moves by default, but if it doesn't you can set this in Chess preferences

• MOves use rank and file system, whereby squares across the board are labeled A through H and squares up the board are labeled 1 through 8; this system starts on the white side of the board, so A1 is the white queen's side (left-most) rook

• In Chess preferences, you can set many options for the game, and the app also offers the ability to save / load games as well etc…

HOpe this helps and do shout out if ya like!, K?…

Have fun and have a wonderful day!…

Smiles,

Cara :)

Hi,

Because it's Sunday and a day of rest, I thought my query to you gurus should be related to something fun. Just playing around with stuff, I found myself noodling around with the chess game that comes with Macintosh and found it to be very accessible. I thought I would like to play with this game. Unfortunately, excepting the rules and how each piece is allowed to move, I know vritually nothing about the game. Is there an "Accessible Chess for Dopey Blinks" book or web site or something else out there?

I've always been a poker or backgammon guy but I've always wanted to learn chess and having an accessible game like this one seems like a good place to start.

Happy Hacking,
cdh
