No, I’ve been deleting jobs, after waiting sometimes for half an hour. The
print queue is empty. I may try to remove the printer and scanner software and
re-install, but not tonight! Bed time! :)
Thanks,
Russell

Is it possible that jobs were stuck in the print queue from one of your
attempts and need to be deleted?

Hi,
Yes, it does show up in System Preferences, but no information of any use.
It says that the printer is available, but when I try to print a test page,
it just sits there with the message that data is being sent to the printer.
Strange.

Hi everyone,
I went to Best Buy yesterday and purchased a new
Printer/scanner/copier/Fax. It’s a Canon MF217W. It has a touch screen in
the front, but the salesperson assured me that I would be able to set up
the unit without having to use the touch screen and display. Well, I’m
having all sorts of troubles. I installed all necessary printer and
scanner and Fax drivers, as far as I know, but no luck getting it to print
or scan. When I try to print a test page from the printer utility in
System preferences, the job just sits there and never finishes… no error
message or anything. When I try to scan, I receive error code 2100009,
with a message that the scanner is in sleep mode.
When I turn the power on, the unit beeps quickly 6 or 7 times.
This is a laser printer, and I did take out the toner cartridge and
removed the foam and cardboard that was around it.
I don’t expect that anyone will know exactly what’s going on. I’ll most
likely have to wait for sighted assistance.
I was just wondering if anyone on this list has had any experience with
this model and if it is possible to use it successfully without the touch
screen and display.
I did tell the salesperson that I would be bringing the unit back if what
he was telling me wasn’t, in fact true! :)
Thanks,
