Factoring in that I’m avoiding paying for a new wired headset, I’d say $100
would be ok, maybe up to $120?
My current headset, which now that I hear the pairning info in my iPhone is a
M165, not a 155, is the single ear earpiece type, with a 2 inch body with an
earbud protrusion at one end and a loop for over the ear. In addition to making
me feel like a secret service agent, it also lets in ambient conversations so I
can be interrupted while I’m working. When I use my stock iPhone wired headset,
I almost always only put one earbud in.
I think what I’m looking for is a better version of my M165, same form factor
but addressing its defficiencies. Music playback and Siri control from the
headset so I don’t have to dig the phone out of my pocket, ability to record
voice memos from the headset would be great, something in the way Voiceover and
the M165 interact keeps this from happening…reminds me of the way back days of
single channel sound cards meaning you could play music and have JFW speaking
at the same time.Although, now that I think about it it doesn’t play nice with
audio recording functions on my Mac either. But I digress, Doesn’t have to be
Plantronics, that just happens to be what they had at the store when I got my
current one a couple of years ago.
Thanks for any wisdom you can offer.

Hi,
What price range are you looking in? and do you prefer in ear or, on ear
headphones?

My wired iPhone headset is starting to give me indications of imminent
failure, thinking I could use the opportunity to get a Blue Tooth headset. I
currently have a Plantronics M155, but it doesn’t have controls for Siri and
music/podcasts. It also survived a trip through the washer and is still
working with only a small drop in sound quality, so it doesn’t owe me
anything.
So, any recommendations on a Blue Tooth headset that integrates Siri and
music/podcast controls? I’m looking for the kind that hangs out in one ear,
leaving the other ear free to pretend I’m listening to my kids talk.
Looks like the one in the Plantronics line-up is the M70, anyone have
experience with that one?
