I did the voiceover as well as all of the editing of the songs. So basically what you have is a rather mixed up batch of middles, beginnings and ends of songs all mixed together in of course correct rhythms. Audacity is really an easy to use powerful editor. The auto ducker feature is fantastic and so are a few others. On Jan 21, 2009, at 5:39 PM, Ginny wrote:

John,
Did you do the actual music on audacity or just the voice-over overdub?

Sara, yes! you can multitrack and other stuff. If you want to hear a
project I did on the Mac go to www.adamandthewalterboys.com click on
the teaspoons link which is one of our cd's then click listen and you
will here some of what can be done with audacity.

I've not used the Mac version of Audacity, but the Windows one was
horribly visual. All I could do was record. Can you do more
accessibility-wise with the Mac version and VO?

Jake, thanks for all of your help. After working a bit with this
and corosponding with the developer I am finding that the concepts
to make this work for me are a bit to confusing and there are
somethings I am just not getting done. I also asked the developer
many times about voiceover and if he tested with it and brought my
concerns to him but the voiceover aspect was neither achnowledged
or talked about. Audacity for me is still the easiest and
quickest to understand and get around. Again thanks really for
getting me on the right track with some of the concepts. talk soon.

Hi John
I use Amadeus Pro quite a bit, though I'm not familiar with every
advanced function the program has by any means. a lot of my
editing needs would be considered fairly basic by the audiophiles
out there, but I'll help out any way I can if you let me know
what parts of the program are confusing you. It is indeed quite
different in operation from most other audio editors, but is very
workable and there are some neat tricks you can perform with it.

Sarah, nothing here. This is why I am seeking help. It's quite
a bit different then what I have used in the past and I am
hoping there is a charitable soul out there. I also did write
to the vendor hoping that perhaps he might have some tips some
tips. If I get anything I'll certainly share it with the list.
They just do things a bit differently.

I haven't even figured out editing yet!
The manual is all about clicking so I can't get anywhere with
that.
Please write a guide about what you have figured out so far.

If there are any amides pro users who would be able to perhaps
assist in learning some of the program I would greatly
appreciate it. I'm familiar with editing and have even tried
working with some of the commands but there are definitely
some things I don't understand. Thanks.

The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a
thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that
cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be
impossible to get at or repair.
