Hi
Amadeus Pro's selection concepts are a bit different from a lot of other audio editors. I'll try to explain it as best I can, though I really had to play with it for a while to get good at it. Probably the most important thing I have to stress is that your insertion point and play head are two completely separate cursors. When you're playing and moving around in the playback with the various movement commandds, you are manipulating the play head. When you use those same commands when playback is stopped, you are moving the insertion pointer. This means, in turn, that when you stop playback your insertion pointer is *not* where you've stopped, the play head is there. Your insertion pointer is wherever it was previously. Try and think of it like the Voiceover cursor vs the Keyboard focus, if that helps. There are two commands that you will be using a lot. To move the insertion pointer to the play head, you use command+y. To move the play head to the insertion point, command+shift+y. Now, with that said, there's so many ways to select audio in Amadeus it isn't even funny. The two approaches I use are to put markers at both the beginning and end of the area I wish to select, keeping in mind which cursor I'm dealing with, move back to the middle and extend the selection to the two markers. This is where you can get frustrated if you don't remember to use the appropriate cursor. The other method I use is to use the keys a, s, d, and f to manipulate the selection precisely. A and s move the left edge of the selection to the left or right, d and f do the same with the right edge. To play a selection, use space--once you have a selection it will play only that, as long as the play head or insertion pointer is within a selection. Hope this helped at least a little, it's sort of hard to explain. I really did have to play with it for a while to fully grasp it. Now that I have though I really like it.

hello all,
I'm working with a demo of Amadeus pro and have some questions if anyone is using this software.
Is there a way to hear what you have selected?
Also, do you just have to place markers where you want to start selecting or can you just press the spacebar to stop the playback and start selecting?
