ON my nokia, I used a program called fring. there is an iphone version but since I don't have my phone yet, I can't comment on its usability. It is free in the app store if anyone wants to try it.

damn so the mac still doesn't have such a beast for sip calling?----- Original Message ----- From: "Ignasi Cambra" <ignasicambra@xxxxxxxxx>To: <macvoiceover@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, June 19, 2009 1:53 PM Subject: [macvoiceover] Re: About SIP communicatorWe are thinking of the same program. I was actually going to email the list again, because now I'm having some trouble with it. It worked perfectly at first, and for some reason the 2nd time I opened it it appears to have no windows. But really, until I first closed the program and opened it again, I was able to just type a phone number on an edit field, press enter, and it would just call.I emailed the developer. I'll let you know what he says... Ignasi On Jun 19, 2009, at 3:50 PM, Jacob Schmude wrote:HiWhere do you get this program? I found a different SIP software by the same name that is coded in Java/Swing, but even though some of the buttons are visible to VO it seems almost impossible to use as none of the lists are readable with VO. Are we thinking of the same program and if so, how are you able to interact with the lists to do so much as sign into one of your SIP accounts? On Jun 19, 2009, at 15:08, Ignasi Cambra wrote:Hello all,I thought I would post this to the list, in case someone is interested. Before I switched to the Mac I used Voipbuster to make international calls, but the software wasn't available for Mac OS X. I just discovered an open source program called SIP communicator, which is basically accessible with VO. I don't think there's other SIP clients for the Mac, so I thought I would let everyone know, just in case. I just made a call, and it works great. Some of the buttons are not labelled correctly but have help tags. I'm going to email the developer now because this is still an Alpha release, so hopefully they'll at least label those controls.IgnasiClick on the link below to go to our homepage. http://www.icanworkthisthing.comManage your subscription by using the web interface on the link below.//www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverUsers can subscribe to this list by sending email to macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' in the Subject field OR by logging into the Webinterface at //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverThe major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.--Douglas AdamsClick on the link below to go to our homepage. http://www.icanworkthisthing.com Manage your subscription by using the web interface on the link below. //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverUsers can subscribe to this list by sending email to macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' in the Subject field OR by logging into the Webinterface at //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverClick on the link below to go to our homepage. http://www.icanworkthisthing.com Manage your subscription by using the web interface on the link below. //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverUsers can subscribe to this list by sending email to macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' in the Subject field OR by logging into the Web interface at //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceover__________ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 4172 (20090619) __________The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com__________ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 4172 (20090619) __________The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.comClick on the link below to go to our homepage. http://www.icanworkthisthing.com Manage your subscription by using the web interface on the link below. //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceoverUsers can subscribe to this list by sending email to macvoiceover-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' in the Subject field OR by logging into the Web interface at //www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceover
