Actually the SSD is nowhere as big yet as the mechanical drives are. The SSD is much faster and less moving parts and much more reliable now. Why do you think Apple has them in the Mac Book air, Offer them in their desktops even the Mac mini and in the Mac Book pros. They have flash drives which is basically a ssd drive on board in all there IOS devices. That is why they are so fast and reliable. So think you have it backwards. I still want a mack book pro as I don't trust solid state drives. All they are are huge fjash drives that are waiting to die a violent death. and I want a 500 gig ssd drive and I won't be able to get that in an air. Take care. The Mac Book Air specs were updated significantly in July with processor and memory and disk space increases. So, it really made the regular Mac Book not necessary. There really would be no category between the Mac Book Air and the Mac Book Pro. You can get an Air for the same price as the old Mac Book, and it's a much better system now. Mike's podcast was prior to Apple's complete overhaul of the Mac Book Air at the same time Lion was released. > > > Take Care > > John D. Mike Arrigo says on a podcast of his that it is 64GB which is not alot.
