I dunno. the way I go through drives and thum drives? Yeah. I can use one in a year and it will be broken. so think on it when using a 250 gig ssd drive.

a SSD drive though has a finite number of read write cycles. The ios devices
don't have an SSD drive in them though, they are the SSD drive hence you
must back up more often then you probably would if you have a regular hd in
there.

I'll wait until the 100 dollar price tag goes down for a 500 gig ssd drive.
lol!

Actually the SSD is nowhere as big yet as the mechanical drives are.
The SSD is much faster and less moving parts and much more reliable
now. Why do you think Apple has them in the Mac Book air, Offer them
in their desktops even the Mac mini and in the Mac Book pros. They
have flash drives which is basically a ssd drive on board in all there
IOS devices. That is why they are so fast and reliable. So think you
have it backwards. JMT and JMO

I still want a mack book pro as I don't trust solid state drives. All
they are are huge fjash drives that are waiting to die a violent
death. and I want a 500 gig ssd drive and I won't be able to get that in
an air.

Take care.

There is no real market need for the Mac Book. The Mac Book Air
specs
were updated significantly in July with processor and memory and disk
space increases. So, it really made the regular Mac Book not
necessary. There really would be no category between the Mac Book Air and
the Mac Book Pro.
You can get an Air for the same price as the old Mac Book, and it's a
much better system now. Mike's podcast was prior to Apple's complete
overhaul of the Mac Book Air at the same time Lion was released.

Hi all, as I'm not really up on the Mac history it still struck me
that
why they should discontinue the Mac Book all together.
I red or heard somewhere that it was to be replaced by the Mac Book
Air
and from what I understand you don't get alot of memory on that merchine.
Mike Arrigo says on a podcast of his that it is 64GB which is not
alot. Im comparison I wonder how much the Mac book had before apple
discontinued it.
But before I stray off the line my question was why do you and
everyone
hear I invite people to make there own theories and ideas that apple
decided to stop the mac book line. Because as a consumer that was
going to be the Mac that I would buy but since that's no longer around
then I would proably go for the Mac Book Pro option.

Thanks

Daniel
