You are pretty close. Its command+shift+t. Command+t brings up a menu to add to sidebar. At least that is what it does on my snow leopard machine.

I know in Lion that will add it to the Dock, but I don't remember if that command was available in SL.
If that does not work, you need to find the running app in the Dock and do a shift-control-option-m to open the context menu. You will either find the, Keep in Dock, item there, or it is a sub menu of, Options.

I want to add some applications to the dock on my Mac Mini running snow leopard (10.6.8). I thought you could do that by launching the application, then finding it on the dock, then pressing the up arrow. I think that should bring up a menu that allows you to add the running application to the dock. But pressing the up arrow on a running application does nothing. If I do that on an existing item, like safari, it brings up a menu that would allow me to remove it from the dock. But if I do that on an icon for a running app that is not on the dock, it does not give me the menu that allows me to add it to the dock.I recently upgraded my Mac Mini from leopard to snow leopard. Actually, I let the local Apple Store do it for me. It was free. I had them do a fresh install so I lost all my customizations including things I'd added to the dock. I wasn't really too worried about that but I can't seem to repeat what I did to add them under leopard.Isn't there another way to add items to the dock through the Applications folder?************ You are subscribed to the mac4theblind mailing list. The url for this list, where one can unsubscribe or make any changes to their list subscription is://www.freelists.org/list/mac4theblind The list archive is located at //www.freelists.org/archive/mac4theblind/ All emails intended for the list owner can be sent to: john@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
