Well John, I used your approach of copying the entire iTunes folder from the USB drive to the music folder in the Mac. It took two tries and a whole lot of stumbling around learning how to work with finder but all the music made it across. I'm not too concerned about all the iTunes configuration and tracking files, etc. Unless they clobbered something in the Mac's iTune folder, I will just let them be until I learn how to configure iTunes on the Mac properly. I'm also making some headway in understanding how to interact with MacOS controls and other objects. Lesson #2 will focus on moving the information in my Outlook.pst file into the corresponding Mac format and locations along with learning the applications that handle email, calendar, word documents, etc. Lessons three and four will be about getting more comfortable with safari and learning MacOS system management functions. Eventually, I will create a Windows 7 partition on the Mac and use it to keep JAWS and K1000 in play. Well, now for some jazz, a glass of single malt whiskey and then back to Mac school... Or my bed, whichever grabs me first. Again, thanks to the members on this list and the apple-support switch-101 pages. It's been only about a day and a half since I took the plunge. -----Original Message----- From: mac4theblind-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mac4theblind-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of John Panarese Sent: Saturday, November 26, 2011 11:06 AM To: mac4theblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [mac4theblind] Re: Transitioning from Windows XP to Lion There should be an import option from the file menu, add to library, in iTunes. You can import files or folders. To be honest, depending on how comfortable you are as a computer user, the easier way would have been just to copy your entire iTunes folder from the PC and paste it on the mac in your user/music/ folder. This is how I have done it in the past. Take Care John D.
