Ultimately, it is your decision, but the orion is more expensive unless you 
want braille for your ipad so need a refreshable braille display  The ipad2 can 
do a lot but it is not a product specifically oriented to the blind.

You can also buy an ipod touch which is smaller and less expensive.  It is 
comparable in features, form and functionality to the ipad 2 but some folk find 
the ipad 2 to be a bit daunting, some find they like they extra spac as well so 
between the ipod touch and the ipad 2, it is a hard call as to that unless of 
course you want a camera and I can't remember if the ipad 2 has a camera in it.
