When I was wet behind the ears programming with Lua (last year), LFW was a 
godsend.  All sorts of stuff already in the box.

It took me about 4 months to ween myself from it.

I think Lua For Windows, that allows you to easily replace Lua for LuaJIT would 
be a good product to have.

I see this daily build effort as something slightly different.  Rather than 
taking the "kitchen sink included" approach of LFW, this is just a nightly 
build of whatever is in the repository, plus a little tiny bit (lpeg).

Lua For Windows presents a bit too much for those who might have fairly minimal 
needs, but is certainly a good playground for anyone who wants to play with 
everything Lua has on offer.  The main problem is, keeping all the various 
packages up to date is rather a pain.
