I was looking at the current crop of UHDTVs and noticed something alarming
about the Sony models: they only show ATSC 3.0 being active on channels 14-36.
In other words, the NextGen tuners on Sony TVs are not designed to receive VHF.
I don’t know if this is the case with other TV manufacturers since only Sony
is willing to show all the specs for their new TVs.
But if this is the trend for NextGen TV sets, it looks like VHF station owners
will be out in the cold for 3.0.
