Just got through meeting with a rep from LocalBTV about getting a channel on
their system - very interesting call.
If you own a TV station and don't know about LocalBTV you probably want to look
into the service. LocalBTV streams local TV stations in 23 U.S. markets, from
New York to Los Angeles to Atlanta to Nashville and more. The streaming
service is free for users and has a nice looking interface and channel guide.
In addition to web browser and mobile viewing, there are free apps for
connected TVs through ROKU, APPLE TV, FIRE TV and ANDROID TV. All the channels
that are on have given permission for their programming to be distributed, so
it's all above board.
If you are interested in having your channel on their distribution system,
there are two ways to get on: by them picking you up on antenna or by sending
them an RTMP stream. You just need to give your permission for them to
distribute your channel. They do have a revenue-sharing setup to place
