Yes I agree with Rick - those are the best ones. A great invention. I just
bought a new one I was able to find on amazon for $13. The old antenna had a
Barbie Gymnastics' accident, and our sweet, helpful granddaughter, had stuck
the antenna together with two bandaides, but it still drooped over, with
actually a very sharp turn to the left. It still worked; if my husband didn't
stand up. He is 6'3" and its like antenna competition. And it was around 15
years old, so the poor thing, it did die on us. This new similar one, old
fashion style, it works so good, it almost makes me cry.
Who was that one on TV yesterday that said their should be no "Summer School,"
and let the kids stay out until end of Summer, so they can get their 'Mojo'
back?" It had to be a teacher. Is that what the state policies will read; "No
Catch up School in Summer months, due to possible Mojo Deficiencies." I vote
"No Mojo" "No Mojo."
When I was in school, we would pray for one "Snow Day." Kids must go to
school; for the sake of humanity. Write that in there.
Excuse me for my digression.

The one I have had the best measurednumbers with has been the old “loop
Antenna with two pull out aerials”, $8.00 -$11.00 from Wal-mart. They seems to
be consistent levels across VHF & UHF. Theissue is going o be folks put the
antennas on top of the TV in the positionthat looks good. Which may not be the
best signal. Then there are those thathide them behind the TV which makes them
about as good as a paper clip.

TheChannel Master Flatenna is $10 or approximately $18 with shipping from
theirwebsite. We’vc sold thousands of these to our viewers and they are
thebest that we’ve seen and tested.

Hard to know with a completely unknown brand. It obviouslyis not going to pick
up stations 100 miles away. I've seen similar models thatsay 960 miles or even
5,000 miles. It's likely a metal antenna inside theplastic of some sort with an
amplifier. Whether these were scientificallydesigned or just someone's idea to
make something that looks like an antennawith an amplifier of unknown quality
where it may overload easily on strongsignals or not have flat gain across the
band, or not be ultra low noise) isanybody's guess. It could be anywhere from
poor to great. The mainthing is it's only $16.99! So not much of a risk.

We've also tested passive "window" antennas and havecome to the same conclusion
with the Channel Master, but where it's mounted canmake a difference (doesn't
have to be on a window). Also, we've testedtheir Flatenna+ (same antenna, but
amplified) and found it to be a great one aswell.

We tested several brands of passive indoor "window"antennae. Our testing showed
that Channel Master makes the best. The testing wedid was several years ago. If
anyone knows of a better passive"window" antenna, please let me know.

Not too much to read into that. We, as operators, have the abilityto look at
FCC databases and other FCC info, and everyone, including them, canlook at
RabbitEars to see what each station is running on its main and digitalsub

On another note, speaking of rabbit ears.
I was contacted the other day and asked to install this softwaresomehow at the
transmitter site so they can “see” our signal.
Anyone else get this request and what are the pros and cons, ifany?
“am trying to update the listing for ———-on RabbitEars and would like to know
if your chief engineer has theability to get a TSReader capture of the
broadcast signal? IF you don't havethe TSReader program, I can get you a FREE
download of the program and providethe steps necessary to use the program for
TSReader captures.”
Honestly surprised the FCC doesn’t require this so they can keepan eye on
everyone from afar.

All:
Need some honest, expert advice. In your opinion, how well should an
indoorantenna be able to pick up an LPTV signal.
More specifically: Suppose your house is one mile from the LPTVtransmitter.
Let's also suppose you look at the coverage map on Rabbit Ears andyour house
where the indoor antenna is smack dab in the green.
Should you be able to pick up the channel relatively easily? Ordo LPTV stations
require outdoor antennas as a general rule?
Thanks!
