Hi LPTV Loopers,
Mark Colombo from the FCC advised me today that any non-built LPTV construction
permit that had an original grant date before July 13, 2018 will expire on July
13, 2021 unless an extension is filed. Some CPs that were displaced were
reissued with permit expirations that showed three years from the grant date.
For example, they may show an expiration date in January of 2023. The
Commission is saying that these expiration dates are in error. The expiration
date is really July 13, 2021. Therefore, if you need up to a six-month
extension, then you still need to apply for and extension and request a waiver.
Evidently this was mentioned in the FCC's public notice, but many of us
thought the expiration on the permit was the real date and didn't realize that
the public notice gave the real date. Some people have asked the FCC about
this and have been told about the July 13, 2021 expiration.
Best Regards,
Keith
