This is great news! I registered my non-profit ministry’s dishes. I
don’t use them as much now as I did when I first put up the dish at my
studio seven years ago. The city I live in sent me letters from the city
attorney saying that a satellite dish was not an antenna and demanded that
I take it down. I prayed, and the Lord put on my heart to research laws
protecting satellite dishes. I wrote back the city, and sent them a
Supreme Court ruling from 1981 where the Supreme Court ruled against
Chicago’s discrimination against satellite dishes where Chicago said a
satellite dish was not an antenna. My city backed down and just required
me to have a structural engineer design a plan to reinforce the bracing of
the mast that went up from the ground to the roof top. The Supreme Court
has also helped me with past rulings in the 1990s affirming must carry.

News from the International Bureau. The C-Band auction just closed and
that is the fund from which the payments to stations that accept the lump
sum payment will come. They advise no firm dates yet, but likely late
spring, early summer before any payments can be made. The 5G auction
winners need to apply for and receive their licenses, and then submit the
payments required in order for them to pay the stations that accepted the
offer the transition costs.
