Rick, that is the correct assessment.
Interestingly the same rule applies to all the other shows thought to be in the
PD: Beverly Hillbillies, Bonanza, the Superman cartoons, etc.

In reading it, it appears there were copyrighted shows beforeand after the 16
“PD” Andy Griffith shows, thus the plot, characters andlocations were set in
the previous copyrighted material and only new plot, characters and locations

episodes where the “First” 16 episodes, copyrightcould not have been claimed.

Iheard a LPTV was threatened by a nearby high power, that he couldn't air
thesame program that a high power station was airing. And he was
complainingabout Beverly Hillbillies for crying out loud. The LPTV just took
themoff to avoid trouble. But, this sounds over-the-top to me. Iremember
turning on every channel playing the same shows, different episodesmaybe, but
either Law and Order or NCIS. A fresh unique ensemble ofprograms would be
welcome to the communities. Anyone know about that,High Power TV Station has
exclusive rights when airing PD.

HiJon,
Thiswill help some LPTVs and hurt some LPTVs. LPTVs can be squeezed out byfull
power stations. Some LPTVs can use this expand coverage.
Iwonder if this would allow some LPTVs to gain cable carriage by adding a
secondDTS transmitter within 35 miles of the cable headend.

I saw this article and curious whether this will have any effecton LPTV? As
LPTV service is secondary, could this push some LPTV stations tomove or reduce
power?
