Hi Gil,
I use deep cycle batteries and a 12 volt battery charger and an inverter for my
well pump. They keep shutting off the power at my house to protect against
wildfires. This is California.
For my studio, I bought a bunch of Liebert UPS’s off of eBay. They use four
UPS 12 volt 9.6Ah batteries. They also allow for six expansion battery packs
with 8 UPS batteries in each. I bought those on EBay, too. For my studio in
Santa Rosa I have four hours worth of battery backup with all the UPS’s and
expansion battery packs. I plan to upgrade in the future to wall lithium
battery packs. For now, I’m using old-school lead-acid batteries. Lead-Acid
lasts 3 years. Lithium Ion lasts 10 years and has twice the capacity and half
the weight for the same size as Lead-Acid.
Blessings,
Keith

Have an electrician install a battery backup with a chain of deep cell
batteries. Here is a little how-to guide that kind of explains the concept.
Many ham radio guys do this as a battery backup at tower sites.

Ours auto switches to this until the generator starts up at our tv tower. Also
have at another tower where our wireless equipment is at. There is not a
generator there. Depending on the load can last for days.

Anyone have recommendations on good UPS battery backup devices? We’ve bought
about 10 CyberPower branded UPSs over the past 5 years from Costco but they are
frustrating to work with since they do not revert back to grid power after
battery power is exhausted. Our off site locations need a human being to turn
on power after a longer power outage. Anyone else experiencing this issue?
