So much was going on I am not sure I got it all. Thanks Minutes of Board Meeting held December 17, 2014 Present were: Kate Shumate, Judi Reifschneider, Fran Williams, Sue Sime, and Edythe Nedd, Ken Sime arrived later. Absent were: Tom Belsan and Terri Parker. Management present were: Rose, Kerin and Todd. Fran brought up the Cyprus Lane street and the fact that it was not resurfaced along with the others and she had received numerous calls. Todd said he had checked the street and felt it was not necessary at this time. Fran said the complaints were about the small stones or slurry that people were tracking into their homes. Kate suggested having a street sweeper go over the street to pick up any loose gravel. Todd said they would take another look, but it would not be done until the next round of paving. A discussion was held on the size of dogs and it was the general feeling the sales office would do anything to sell a home, including allowing a large dog into the park. Several board members said there was a great dane and a rothweiler in the park. Kerin stated their were factors in allowing large dogs: the animal had to be at least 10 years old, be well behaved, an interview was conducted with the owners and the animal to be sure it was friendly and the dog was registered. Rose encouraged the board & residents to report to the office if they see any large dogs. Great Danes and Rothwielers are not allowed in the park. Kerin and Rose updated the board on the matter of a church service here at LPG. Pauline Werner is no longer interested in going forward with the church since the group only wanted the Lutheran Minister and no other. Kerin stated at Las Palmas they used the Baptist Church as a church for tax purposes to process donations and they have had the church service for 16 years without problems. Kate suggested Rose post a sign-up sheet on the pen & quill board just to see how many people were interested in a Sunday church service before going forward. We could find some people interested outside the group that Pauline Werner represented. Edythe brought up a safety issue regarding regarding the Sunday night card games. In order for some men to watch a sporting event on TV they would stand on the table to turn the TV on since they did not have a remote. Rose said Mike and Mylia were in the office on Sunday until at least 5 PM and they could hand out a remote and when the card players were done they could drop it in the mail slot before leaving the building. Sue reported a woman who had moved out of LPG was still coming to ceramics and often had items in the Kiln and the other participants had to wait until it was free. Wanted to know the policy on when a person has moved, are they allowed to come in and use the amenities anytime, who gives them permission, Nancy or Rose. Edythe brought up the poker nights on Sunday and were told even if a table is not being used, no-one is allowed to sit there, this was from Nancy. Rose went and got Nancy to clear the matter up. Nancy explained she was told the people on Sundays are very unfriendly to new arrivals and she wanted new residents to sit in with other residents to get to know them. A lot of money was spent on table tops so you can have more people at a table or remove the top to play poker. After discussing it, nothing was really resolved. Nancy was questioned regarding the pot luck on Veterans Day and her reasoning for having a cake for Canadians and US vets. Some people were upset and said if you are going to honor Canadians then we should honor all Vets who served. So if there is a cake it should say "All Vets" not choose just one country even though they are an ally. Edythe suggested two more TV's be purchased for the card room. When the rooms are closed off there is no access to watch the TV. These could be used for instructions & viewing. She asked it be put into the budget. There were no further discussions, the meeting adjourned at 11:50 AM Respectfully submitted Kate Shumate, President
