So nice to hear from you all. Glad to hear that everyone is making the best
out of the situation. I wanted to sure my thoughts with you all because I
realize how fortunate I am.
Last week was my birthday which seems so insignificant with people battling
the Corona Virus. However, I am feeling more blessed and grateful this year.
There has always been a sadness about my birthday for me because it is the
anniversary of my brother’s death when he was only 10 years old. This year,
I choose to be profoundly grateful for the gifts that have come from terrible
virus. That might sound strange…
· I am grateful that my kids are young enough that they are still at
home and I know they are safe. I decided we would take the 1 hour a day to
disconnect and reconnect by doing something together. This is the same
amount of time we would spend commuting from work/school.
· I am grateful for all the amazing and wonderful people that make up
this crazy family.
· I am grateful for having more time with my sister, as she so bravely
battles cancer. My dear family and friends have made it possible to commute
back and forth. My plan is make sure I do not waste one minute and to truly
appreciate all the ups and downs.
· Lastly, I am grateful for my wonderful husband that has opted to
take this crazy adventure with me for the past 20+ years. My plan is to take
a few minutes every day to be present in the moment even when things get back
to the daily chaos of our lives. I suspect we all fall victims to our busy
schedules soon enough.
So thank you all for your friendship and support. I ask that you take 1
minute to think of all the simple things we have to be grateful for. Yes,
things could be better right now but if you are healthy…make the most of your
time. Life is not a dress rehearsal so make it count.

Subject: [loureirofamily] Family Check-In
Hello from Florida,
I just wanted to make sure everyone is ok, well as ok as they can be. We
have a wonderful family support system, so please do not hesitate to reach
out if you need help. I can order some groceries if you need them or call if
the stress is too much. With everything going on, I am so happy that I got
to see most of you on Christmas Eve. Stay home (if possible) and stay safe.
God Bless!
Sincerely,
Maryann Evans & family
