At my request, Jonathan Clark has done some scouting (see his report
below) I anticipate we will expand on the areas previously canvased in
order to increase potential b/f numbers. I also anticipate splitting into
groups to maximize coverage.

Hi Craig,
So, I went to HQ, French Fork, and Willow Lake Units Monday. I started
early, birding, but eventually butterflies started becoming active. Not a
great diversity, but at least there were a good many individuals of some
species. And just over all more butterflies than I'd seen out there earlier
this season, so that's a good sign. I'll hit the Bushley Bayou area next.
We've been getting those hit-and-miss showers around here in recent
days.
*Headquarters Unit* -- 6:23 am - 10:20 am; 77- 84 degrees F.; light
breeze; sky cloudy becoming mixed clouds and sun; 5.5 miles. Vast majority
of butterflies were after 8:30, which is also when the sun started coming
out. Seemed to be fresh flight of H. Emperors and Q Marks -- lots of both
in the road.
Cloudless Sulphur - 1
Orange Sulphur - 3
'Astyanax' Red-spotted Purple - 10 (1x1)
Question Mark - 25 (attempted 1x1 count)
Hackberry Emperor - 75 (give or take a handful)
Moths: Milky Urola (Argyria lacteella) - 1; Cross-lined Waved (Timandra
amaturaria) -

-Cloudless Sulphur or S. Dogface (brief look at a distance -- yellow
butterfly, right size for these types, often find both species at this
location in past yearst)

As far as nectar sources: Moderate amount. A good amount of Brazilian
Verbena at Fr. Fork Unit; some starting to bloom at Willow Lake; a few at
HQ. A few Frogfruit at HQ - maybe more that I didn't notice as not blooming
yet. Varying amounts of milkweed, Sida, Justicia, sensitive-brier,
dandelion; a few arrowleaf.
