LA CEMETERY PRESERVATION Message Board NASH CEMETERY MONROE, LA OUACHITA PARISH http://boards.rootsweb.com/topics.cemetery.us.lacempres/18/mb.ashx Nash Cemetery - West Monroe, LA (View posts) Posted: 18 Nov 2008 1:05PM GMT Classification: Query Surnames: Ebey, Tilley The cemetery located on the corner of US 80 & Magee Rd. Only part of the cemetery is kept up. The majority is grown up in brush and undergrowth. There is a CSA grave located there. I thought the Sons of Confederate Veterans could clean it up, but not yet. I have current pictures of the condition. Any suggestions on preservation? Re: Nash Cemetery - West Monroe, LA (View posts) Posted: 24 Nov 2008 5:20PM GMT Classification: Query Surnames: Please email louisianacemeteries@xxxxxxxxx with this information. This is the Louisiana Cemetery Preservation wiki_masters email address. There are other cemeteries in Ouachita that have been reported to Saving Graves in 2000. You've done a great job already by getting photographs taken of the cemetery condition. If you can email those to louisianacemeteries@xxxxxxxxx that would be great as these are necessary for proof of conditions and further action. There are a number of things that must be done first, like finding out who owns the cemetery property. You can search for information on cemetery preservation http://louisianacemeteries.angelfire.com .. You can also upload those photographs here, by attaching a file below in a reply message on this message board. Depending upon who owns the property may dictate responsibility for this cemetery. The fact that it is currently in a state of disarray is a matter of concern. There are also transcriptions available for this cemetery from approximately 1993, although transcriptions were submitted in 2000 they were from a book published in 1993. Do you know who owns it? http://boards.rootsweb.com/authorposts.aspx?uname=MarlonEbey1&uid=012ac117-0003-0000-0000-000000000000&uem=&rurl=http%3a%2f%2fboards.rootsweb.com%2ftopics.cemetery.us.lacempres%2f18%2fmb.ashx GPS Nash Cemetery per Martin Gauthier's Louisiana Cemeteries http://www.la-cemeteries.com (Ouachita Parish) 32 31 04 N 92 14 14 W http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/ouachita/cemeteries/nash.txt and http://files.usgwarachives.net/la/ouachita/cemeteries/nashupd.txt Earliest burial 1846 Last burial transcribed on the internet above: (1979) and (2001) Transcribed: (Book title 1993) submitted: 2000 and 2004 By:Submitter: Paul Tolbird and Jessica Fisher Source: Surveyed by CE & Betty Hodges (book) c.1993 Location description: HWY 80 AT MCGEE ROAD 5 MI W OF WEST MONROE PJAL DIRECTORY CONTACT Ouachita Parish P.
