Getting started with Marmalade Quick by Nick Smith

Building a successful game with Marmalade Quick by John Bye

Nick is a senior engineer at Marmalade and he has a long background in
C++ and OpenGL programming for games and has worked on mobile
platforms from Win CE and Symbian through to iOS, Android and
BlackBerry 10. For Marmalade, he has worked on many core SDK internals
as an engineer, but is now focussed on developer relations, partner
integration and R&D, with a little bit of app programming for fun on
the side.

John Bye is a Senior Designer at Marmalade Game Studio, and headed the
team that developed Signal to the Stars, as well as contributing to
the studio’s hit iOS game Wipeout. Prior to that he worked at
Headstrong Games and Lionhead Studios, where he worked on popular
console titles such as Fable and House of the Dead: Overkill.

Between them they’ll cover the following:

1. Lua basics

2. Hello world using our IDE

3. Loading assets

4. Responding to events

5. Updating Game states

6. Compiling & deploying to marketplaces

And we’ll have a few developers around afterwards to talk to the audience.
