But I don’t mean that in a good way. Popper was a terrible philosopher, who
bullied a generation of young British philosophers of science into
accepting his absurd sceptical views. I was into my 30s and had written two
books before I freed myself of his influence. I hold it against him.
But your point is serious, the so called problem of induction --to me-- can
be cast in this way
the degree of confidence you have in the sun exhausting hydrogen vs. the
degree of confidence you have in Popper, Hume etc.
I have an opinion on it, but it is irrelevant, it may help to ask oneself
the question (imho it is a serious problem for sceptical view of many
stripes)
