instead of droning, why not read Searle?
the reason chinese was chosen has two reasons
1. historical (Block's "troubles with functionalism")
2. linguistic (Chinese could, in some sense of the modality "could", be read
graphically
and, to be sure the large pool of chinese speakers.
the Chinese room does pass a Turign test, that is all that counts.
