The State Patrol is not letting anyone in,

Hi,
My friend's husband who is a fire fighter said that was the real problem
keeping 'regular' people from being able to help.

That and the fact that they were requiring any of the 'official' rescue
people to go to Georgia FIRST to make sure that they all had their shots.

There are vans/semis of people who have left and driven with loads of stuff
from all over--from Minnesota to Chicago to Wash DC--and some little towns,
even [like my friend in the 4000 person town--not knowing HOW they were going
to get past the State Patrol but just hoping that by the time they arrive they
could manage to help...

Instead of coordinating and tracking people going in to help--they just
didn't want to take any chances of anyone getting hurt? I don't know--they
have
not said why...

Best,
Marlena in Missouri
