The Guardian goes to bed early, so today's edition (mine, anyway) didn't have the results. What it did have -- in clear expectation of a Kerry win -- was a piece about Blair that goes against both his behaviour and the (reliable-sounding) leaks re his massive respect for Bush. I particularly liked this bit: >>>>>>>>>>> But in private Mr Blair has let it be known life would be easier for >him under a Kerry administration. His thinking is in line with his wife Cherie's, who during Mr Bush's visit to Britain last November referred to him as "that man" who had caused so much trouble for her husband. >>>>>>>>>>>> OOPS! http://www.guardian.co.uk/uselections2004/story/0,13918,1342046,00.html this later story is headed "Blair Congratulates Bush Win" (yes, the Guardian subs are hopeless) http://www.guardian.co.uk/uselections2004/story/0,13918,1342667,00.html -- Judy Evans, Cardiff, UK mailto:judithevans001@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ------------------------------------------------------------------ To change your Lit-Ideas settings (subscribe/unsub, vacation on/off, digest on/off), visit www.andreas.com/faq-lit-ideas.html
