Judy: [Yost maintains] I don't think much of Cindy Sheehan

(so?)

Eric: The "so" is that Marlena asked me why I had the impression Cindy was an oppressive mother. I tried to explain. Plus I just posted a similar case of the mom of an astronaut.

Judy: she's anti-war (and always has been) but her son was not and
enlisted, *therefore* she must have been an "oppressive" mother.

Eric: I have yet to read anything that changes my impression of her. My impression of her was not based on the above reasoning, but on the fact that she would disregard the reality of her son's life.

In my view, making her son's death political showed how little she cared about him, rather than showing, as some others feel, that it showed how much she cared.

Suppose Casey had been a doctor, volunteered in Africa, and died of Ebola and Cindy campaigned to end medical intervention in areas with hemmorhagic fever outbreaks. That would be equally vile.
