<<Artists should never
be asked to explain themselves (or their work).>>

Except Vonnegut. Vonnegut is art in motion when he speaks. And Woody
Allen. Woody Allen is someone who should be (has been with good result) asked
to
explain his work. They are exceptions...

The inarticulate dude remained secure in his inarticulateness. I thought it
was
one of the most boring conversations I'd ever listened to. Artists should
never
be asked to explain themselves (or their work).
