Bin Laden has written for a long time that America is a paper tiger and you are rushing to prove him right." I am not an American, so perhaps I am speaking out of turn here. Why should we take the words of a couple of guys running for their lives, hiding in caves, as being the words of military geniuses? Things haven't worked out so well for them. And how much genius does it take to give angry young men guns and point them towards their deaths? Why should they have better insight into what will happen if U.S. troops pull out of Iraq? I find it fascinating how people from opposite ends of the political spectrum will, in their own unique ways, validate the positions of these loons. One end points to the criticism of so-called Western arrogance and hegemony while the other end points to the wild threats and promises. Both agree that there is truth in these delusional rantings. I am not suggesting they aren't dangerous, only that perhaps we shouldn't use them as guides for evaluating ourselves.
