late at night

aye, funny old thing life
that we should finish up in a bar here together
in the middle of... where is it now
an' everyone else with something important to do
very nice to meet you, by the way
I'll get us a round

I'm flattered
that's very good of you
do you write too
no, it's true
blather loves company

while it's quiet, will I tell you a fantasy
you can tell me yours
heather heywood's her name
not a clue or care how she looks

the voice of a siren
suck a man down, helpless
like dinosaurs in tar pits
like legionnaires in b movies
like butter going on hot crumpets

by yon castle wa'
that's the tune
the rest is pretty much crap
just my view

so gie's a clue
Franz Ferdinand
aye, I've heard of him
he's dead though, no

oh, a band
very good
