From the newspapers: "Secretary Chertoff and Frances Townsend, President Bush's homeland
security adviser, said that they had no warning - through "chatter" at Islamist websites or
other intelligence - that attacks were going to occur anywhere last week."
This is pretty bad news. Another complete failure of intelligence, and that's considering
the massive ongoing efforts. The jihadists can pull off an attack in London, during the G8
Conference, without making any noise whatsoever.
The Monitor goes on to write that it's likely the London jihadi group had no contact to al
Qaeda.
This means al Qaeda has evolved from a hiearchical structure into dozens of independant
groups, all working together but without contact. This will make it extremely difficult to
infiltrate or stop.
