I understand. I meant it in the context of little Democratic JKF-loving

**Impossible to judge (at this distance) whether you're naive or deliberately disingenuous. After hearing of students assaulting the arab cafeteria workers at my university, in the week following 9/11, all four of my classes were delivered the sternest lecture by me forbidding such behaviour. Even now, thirty some odd years later, it's difficult for me to believe that anyone would have stayed Belleville citizen's mob violence -- had anyone truly chosen to attack the few Jews who lived there...

I think by now you know
how I feel about humanity and about religion. The two can be a lethal
combination, and I can see how you can be traumatized, as far as I can see,
there's no real anti-Semitism in the U.S. Religion is so extremely popular
no matter where one goes. I don't get it, but that's just me I guess.

**Must be nice to live in your cocoon. However, anti-Semitism is unfortunately still alive and well -- rearing its ugly head -- not too long ago, here in Chatham.

Individual nutcases are everywhere. The signs obviously didn't mean
anything.

**You mean, to you, Irene, to you. "Nutcases" have been know to act on, to execute their (not completely thought out) initiatives. Yours is either an insensitive and/or perhaps supercilious response, Irene. At the time -- to me -- it seemed quite near, rather threatening. The image of someone "burning" me wasn't appealing... at all...

**No longer recall the names of the streets (haven't been back there since 1976, except to take my wife to Nanina's in the Park, one evening for dinner) -- but the two signs that come to mind were a block or so

from the gas stations in town... A few people had the same signs taped

to the windows of their cars -- noticed while waiting on those interminably long lines -- at the same gas stations.

Where in Belleville were these signs posted? Washington Avenue,

Franklin

Avenue? I have friends in Belleville, I'd like to ask if they

remember.

more nicey-nice from those poor ole Mullah thugs...

**Yeah.

**Even the usual anti-Semites, anti-Israelis, and/or anti-Semites,

see through the obviously planned tactic of: "Sure. We'll trade you Jew's lives for ending our atom-bomb program..."

**Echoes of some 1973 signs in my Belleville, NJ neighborhood which read: "Burn Jews, not oil" -- now replaced with, perhaps: "Give up

your

Jews, we'll give you stability in the ME (and oil -- lower gasoline prices)!!"
