Nothing so prosaic. I can't give all the details, but I am in the process
of negotiating a three-year visiting professor position at an Islamic
university in a Muslim country. I would be teaching courses in Ethics and
Christian beliefs. A particular emphasis would be on developing an
understanding of the peaceful role of religion in society. You read my
Habermas paper on reason and religion in the public sphere (I just found out
it was accepted in a good journal!) and I have another paper on Kant, reason
and revelation (which I am hoping will be published in another good
journal), and I am hoping to continue this research on reason, religion and
society.

"But the place was packed and everyone had a great time. We went overtime by
at least 30 minutes. And the New College bar had already been open for 40
minutes! Habermas lives!"

Good to hear it was a lively event. I am curious whether you notice a
N.A./Euro difference as you move between this conference and the CPA.

Sincerely,

Phil Enns
