Last weekend my it was my turn in the library queue for "Extras," which is what Ricky Gervais did after the Office. I haven't seen the Office. "Extras" is funny in a pathetic way, which is to say that it walks the line between pathos and comedy. The extras are always trying to get a line in a movie production. The movie's stars (different every week and names you would recognize) play caricatures of themselves, or of stars. The talent agent is useless. Though it may be hard to comprehend from my description, this was the most interesting comedy I've seen in ages. The DVD supplemental bits are particularly good, especially a scene in which Gervais and his chum try to call up Leonardo di Caprio.

Get in line wherever DVDs are available.
