The book (I'm remembering from thirty-some years ago) was very funny and
also without egregious display of inner torment. I think I read it in
the hospital when my son was born...long ago memories...without
googling, I'm not sure I...yes, I can...Joyce Carey?? He wrote a
sequel, I think...
