The original audio series was featured weekly on the local NPR radio station
when I was in College (around the time of the dinosaurs). I never missed an
episode. I have gone out of my way to avoid the movie knowing that, though
Adams started it, a movie project could in no way do the stuff justice. You
just can't do visuals for his stuff......

The audio version of the book, produced by BBC in the late 70s or early
80s, is hard to beat. The whale's soliloquy has a nice explosion at the
end when it abruptly makes landfall.
