This idea that we, rather than Islamic ideology, are creating terrorists or
terrorist sympathizers, doesn't really hold up. It is half way between
Islamist ideology and Marxist ideology. The terrorists derive their
fanaticism through the former, the well-known ideology conceived of by a
bank of people, the best known of which is Sayyid Qutb. This ideology is a
self-starter. It didn't in the past need the US to get it started, and it
doesn't need it now. It needs only the Qutbist conception of 7th Century
Islam. To say that we could do something to further Islam is not consistent
with their ideology. But it is consistent with Marxist ideology: the
"Wretched of the Earth" eventually get a belly full and revolt. It never
quite worked that way in Marxist revolutions - I mean the Marxists said it
did, but they always needed their "vanguard" to get and keep things going.
The Wretched didn't arise all by themselves in Cuba, for example. Batista
would have remained in power if it hadn't been for the Castro-led vanguard
there.

If you are worried about the Islamofascists hating us, that is a waste of
time. They are going to hate us no matter what. If you are imagining that
people who are opposed to the Islamofascists will hate us, I don't think
that will happen either. What may happen if we were to invade Iran is that
non-Islamofascists could be drafted into the Iranian army to fight against
us, but I don't think we plan to invade. Will the Iranian
non-Islamofascists hate us if we bomb their nuclear facilities? Some think
so. Others think that they will blame the Mullahs and Ahmadinejad for
adventurism.

. . . .Thanks to the Leftist Media we are once again seen as a bunch of
wuses who lost their nerve. A lot of Islamofascists are back to thinking of
us the way Osama did after Black Hawk Down and the way Saddam kept thinking
of us right up until end. The Leftist Press continues to encourage
Islamofascist adventures. Well, why not. Maybe they'll get someone like
Carter after the next election. I'm sure they're hoping. In the meantime
we'd better bomb Iran so that our enterprise in Iraq doesn't collapse.

I'm quite able to be a wus on my own, thank you, with no help from any
liberal media.

There are lots of ordinary Muslims who don't really like the terrorism of
their Muslim friends. But one deeply DEEPLY held Muslim belief is that of
war as defensive. If one is attacked, one may fight back using whatever
means seems effective. Our attacking Iran, the SECOND "unprovoked" attack
(in Muslim eyes) will create thousands more terrorist sympathizers and
hundreds more terrorists. If Bin Laden had Bush as his right hand man, he
couldn't have done a better job of undermining American society.
