We have had threads before on the subject of car names. I return to this
because a friend is buying a Toyota Camry and I wanted to know what a "Camry"
was. If Wikipedia is correct the meeting may have gone something like this:

Top Salaryman: Anyone have suggestions about what to call the new car?
Salaryman One: "Crown" has always worked for us. Corona and Corolla were good.
T.S.: True. Anyone know yet another way of saying "crown"?
Salaryman Two: Kanmuri?
Somewhat Lost Foreign Guest: Did he say Camry?

We rented a Skoda Citigo recently. I liked it. While Citigo is, in my view, a
stupid name for a car, it's better than the VW equivalent of this car, which is
called and "up!" (complete with exclamation mark). I can't imagine Mr Rolls
and Mr Royce saying, "Let's add an exclamation mark to the name of our car."

While we were wandering around Britain we came across a gathering of the Trojan
owners club. You'll find a history of the car here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trojan_(automobile) I liked the advertising
slogans, "The car that made walking an extravagance," and, more simply, "Dad,
why don't you try a Trojan?"

Couldn't say that in America.

Carry on,
