I did serve time in the dance tally tent. When I went for a beer afterwards I discovered great bravery. Someone had awarded the concession to an "American-style lager" (yes, that's what it's called on the website) from Illinois. Only bravest of concessionaires will ask Scots who are armed with swords and axes to pay six dollars for a plastic beaker filled with light yellow water.

Pabst, I'd infer from the HG website. Sacrilege, when they could have served MacTarnahan's Amber Ale—at least it's local, and named for Mac Mactarnahan, who is memorialized by the Mac MacTarnahan Caber Toss.

Robert Paul,
off beer entirely
