tonight we heard a paid poet
who had beautiful hair
she occupies a chair
somewhere in the south
unfortunately she read in that precious register many poets who aren't from
scotland seem to love
you know the one?
when almost every whirred?
seems to have a mark?
after?

hers transported like heirloom baubles
bobbing in a stream
so mellifluously
they absolutely watered me
off

Why didn't my education include useful stuff like what little spiders actually
eat?
Do they get leftovers from mum's feast, or must they scrum up bacterial sized
bits and bites,
after going walkabout on the web and successfully evading smothering drops of
water?
