i am ready for refreshment or
as my daughter's gps device says
re-setting
in today's brief spells of sunshine i muse about a time when
all my fruit trees are pruned and my office is clear of clutter
which is my equivalent of the elephant that people in the great western migration
knew they would not see
a big thing that marks the change from this phase to that
which is not what
happens
kind people throw parties to mark the watershed of citizenship
saluting you with hamms and mashed potatoes
another day goes by another pile of student papers comes with
excuses and tales of illnesses from the communication design major
I have been feeling sick all day and will either be coming to class late or not present for class today, would you be able to give me some info on what I missed if I do not attend class?
then there are those diligent few who will shine
wherever they land
and who are refreshment incarnate
little bits of sun in themselves
